Let me start by saying wow! This book is totally awesome. I thought that i would be confused by symbols or some craziness like that but that is not the case. The Skin Map sucks you in from the first paragraph and never lets you go. I recommend you take this journey and enjoy the ride.

"The cover says It is the ultimate quest for the ultimate treasure. Chasing a map tattooed on human skin, across an omniverse of intersecting realities, to unravel the future of the future." I think that's an understatement. The characters are vivid and alive and the transfer between points of view is flawless.

The Skin Map is about traveling between different planes of existence and different times periods simultaneously via something called Ley Lines. The man that discovered this phenomenon has a map tattooed on his body so that he can always find his way home. The others that end up with the map are always in danger of being captured by a gang of mad men that go back as far as the original tattooed man himself.

The Skin Map is book one in the Bright Empires series by Stephen R. Lawhead and I am very much looking forward to reading book two.
